Day 143

The numbers just creeping up...and up...Yesterday was a brilliant enaction of the standard plan. 40 push-ups at noon after a morning of crude diagramming in Fireworks. Another 40 just after a blistering four mile run at 4pm. Then, before jumping into the shower, a painful 40 on the cold bathroom tile floor.

One small misadventure: my sweaty hand slipped as I did that last set of 40, in the bathroom. I was slip-sliding all over the place but I gutted it out. Somehow the slipping made the damn things that much harder.

The last set -- very late at night, waiting for Jenny to come home from "Spanish class" in Atlanta. On a carpeted surface, with a belly full of homemade "barbecue tofu." 22 push-ups, for that lovely grand total of 142.

Today, I wonder, can I crank them out in the cubicle at GPB? Unsure. Jenny has asked me "not to be the weird new guy doing push-ups in his cube." But oh man, I want to be that guy.

....We've been a little slack lately. I'm reinvigorated, rededicated. I will not be deterred!? The halfway point is not so far off: 183. That should come some time in July.
